Kroka Expeditions: Bagging the Catamount Since 2005

The New Hampshire-Vermont Semester is a 600-mile ski and canoe journey up the Catamount Trail and down the Connecticut River.  About a dozen adventurous high school students have completed the CT each year since 2005.  They start at their base camp in Marlow, NH, where they make their own tent, preserve food, sew mukluks, and weave baskets for the trip north.  The students carry all their supplies and live as close to the land as possible on their 300-mile journey north.  To return when the snow melts, they build their own canoe!  Visit Kroka's website to learn more.

Each student on the trip has a crucial job.  There is a cook, a medic, a historian, and a scribe, among others.  To read about their trip, visit the scribe's blog.
