2011 Fall Trail Work Schedule

Still smiling after a day of trail work moving the CT off snowmobile trails and into the backcountry in Ripton, August 2011.

For those of you who haven’t been daydreaming of skiing all summer, shorter days and cooler nights are here to remind us that snowy trails are on the way…. which means it’s time to invest in a bit of fall trail maintenance!

Maintaining 300 miles of trail requires many hands.  If you enjoy working in the woods and have some time to spare, please join CTA’s Trail Chiefs and other volunteers in our annual effort to clear the Catamount Trail of blow-downs, branches, and brush.  Check out the schedule below and contact the appropriate Trail Chief for details on meeting time and place.

If you need more information, please call the CTA office at 802-864-5794.  Additional trail workdays will be scheduled so check in again, soon.

You’ll need lunch, water, long pants, work gloves, hiking boots, and a pair of loppers or a handsaw.  Pack or wear blaze orange as many of these dates occur during hunting season.  Bring a friend, give back to the trails you enjoy, and help CTA provide new trail users with great experiences in the coming season.
