Celebrate National Trails Day, Saturday June 4th!

On Saturday, June 4th, trail organizations are hosting events across the state and the nation to celebrate National Trails Day. National Trails Day is a day to give back to, enjoy, and celebrate our public trails.

  • The Stowe Mtn Bike Club will be working on the 8 Bridges section of the Catamount Trail in Sterling Valley, meeting at 9am at the Sterling Valley Gorge parking lot. Followed by BBQ and pond jumping (pictured above!) For more info, contact rick@[remove this text]stowemtnbike.com or call (802) 793-9246.

  • The Stowe Land Trust will hold its annual work day at the Kirchner Woods from 9am-12noon. They will be installing new signs and trail markers, and cleaning up the bridges and trails. Lunch will be provided for participants, RSVP by calling (802) 253-7221 or email info@[remove this text]stowelandtrust.org.

  • The NorthWoods Stewardship Center in East Charleston will host a ‘leader’s choice’ National Trails Day event. For more info, contact (802) 723-6551 ext. 113.

  • The Upper Valley Trails Alliance is partnering with many local trails organizations to host more than 10 NTD events across VT and NH on the 4th, including events in Woodstock, Norwich, Quechee and Bradford.

  • On Sunday, June 5th, the Wilmington Trail Committee will be hosting a fun, family event at Lake Raponda with a kids scavenger hunt, walks along the new trails around the lake and on the ridge and a BYO picnic for all.

We hope you will get out and enjoy amazing trail communities in Vermont and the trails themselves on National Trails Day!
