The 5th Annual Ladies Nordic Ski Expo is Around the Corner

Ladies, are you looking for a supportive environment to try a new sport? Or are you looking for helpful advice to master your skate technique? If so, please mark your calendars and join us for the 5th annual Ladies Nordic Ski Expo on Saturday, January 12th, 2013 at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. As the name implies, this is a ski event for women only and by women only.
The Ski Expo is unique in that it offers women an opportunity to receive instruction in the traditional skinny-ski track disciplines of both classic and skating as well as backcountry and telemark techniques. Participants will be able to pick and choose which type or types of instruction they want to receive in this day long event. Instructors for the event will be top-notch and will include some of the world’s best master skiers. To maximize the learning opportunity, we will strive for a low participant to teacher ratio.
The schedule for the event (9AM – 5:30PM) includes two on-snow instruction sessions in the morning, lunch at the Trapp Family Lodge, a fantastic presentation following lunch by Nicole Freedman (Director of Maine Huts and Trails), another ski instruction session or guided tour, and an apres ski wine and light fare social to end a fun filled day.
The Trapp Family Lodge, with its new snow-making equipment, great access to backcountry and telemark terrain, and exceptional facilities and views, will provide a perfect setting for this event. The Catamount Trail also incorporates a portion of the Trapp Family Nordic trails as it passes through the Stowe area.
The cost for the entire day of instruction, lunch, slide presentation, and trail pass is only $65.00 for Catamount Trail Association members and $90.00 for non-members. Rentals are available at the Trapp Family Nordic Center (please call ahead at 802-862-7000). This event will benefit the CTA and is sponsored by Trapp Family Lodge. A special Trapp Family Lodge accommodation rate of $199 per night plus tax will be offered to participants of this event.
