2nd Annual Ladies Nordic Ski Expo
Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe
Saturday, January 9

This full day Nordic skiing event is for women of all levels of ability taught by some of the country’s top women instructors. Two sessions of instruction include a choice of backcountry/telemark, classic or skate techniques. Following luncheon, participants will be captivated by a presentation about skiing Iceland’s backcountry. The day will culminate with a wine and cheese social.  Participants will receive a discount on lodging and merchandise.  Cost for the entire day including trail pass, luncheon, instruction, and optional video analysis is $50 for CTA members and $75 for non-members.  Pre-registration is required and limited to 100 women. This event will most likely by filled prior to Christmas.

2nd Annual Get Out and Backcountry Ski Festival
Bolton Nordic Center
Sunday, January 24

Join us for a day of celebrating backcountry skiing on some of the best terrain in Vermont.  Learn from experienced instructors as they help you improve your telemark technique or teach you the basics of backcountry skiing with the help of video analysis. Manufacturers will be on hand with the latest backcountry skis and snowshoes to demo but participants should bring their own equipment as well. Lessons and tours will be happening throughout the day with a social gathering and backcountry film following the event.  Cost is $35 for CTA members and $50 for non-members and includes instruction, trail pass, equipment demo followed by a cheese and beverage social/video review at 4:00pm. Lunch may be purchased at the deli or BVcafeteria. Pre-registration by January 20th is required and limited to 80 people.

5th Annual Tour de Blueberry Hill

Enjoy a fun ski day for the whole family with guided tours for all ages and ability. Tours for families and beginners start at 10:00 and 12:00. Advanced tours begin at 10:00 with a thrilling ski over Romance Mountain. As in the past, Blueberry Hill's homemade soup and cookies will be waiting by the woodstove for post-tour fun. A $15 donation includes trail pass, reduced-price rental equipment, and all of the above. Children with parents are free, including equipment rental.

3rd Annual Catamount Trail Challenge
Trapp to Bolton Backcountry Race and Tour
Sunday, March 14

Take the Catamount Challenge and tour or race from Trapp Family Lodge to the Bolton Valley Nordic Center.  The 17 km route is 70% backcountry with a 2420 ft vertical climb from Nebraska Notch to the highest point on the Catamount Trail.  This event is only for experienced skiers in good physical condition.  The entry fee of $50 for CTA members and $60 for non-members includes a post race banquet, raffle, awards and a CTA 8th Edition Guidebook.  The combination race and tour will be limited to 100 people.
