Skied into Stratton Pond from the North Brookwood Rd access point (in the Stratton Mtn. resort area) this afternoon for sunset. Snowmobile tracks for the first mile to the I.P. Road, untracked snow for the second mile into the pond. There's a slight breakable crust under an inch of fresh snow with tons of animal tracks. Snow depth is five feet or so. Many bent-over birch saplings in the trail from the recent wet snow were mildly annoying but the trail is certainly passable.
