We skied south from Harriman Dam today, almost to the Rt 100 crossing, and back, about 3 miles one way. There is not much snow, but there is enough. 99 and 44/100% of the trail is kick and glide, a few short spots to hobble across where the base is gone and the 1" of new snow isn't quite enough, and a few small surface runoffs and streams to side step across. The section we skied had been snowshoed in the past so the base was firm, but the new snow quieted it down nicely.
Another skier who had skied six miles north of Harriman Dam (Sec 2) said it was lovely up there too.
I can extrapolate that Sec 3,4 and 5 should be quite skiable as well, that area often gets snow when it is sunny everywhere else.
So we should be all set for the President's Day Weekend Tours, some snow in the forecast this week to help out.
