Hi all,
A new member here.icon_smile.gif I thought at one point I heard some news about the possiblity of a full length month long CT tour during February 2009.
Is this true? I would like to find out some more information on this. But couldn't find anything on the website.
Can you help?
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris, you're right, there was talk about a month tour and I think at this point it's been decided to celebrate the CTA's 25th anniversary with a series of smaller tours/events that span the length of trail.

I'm not too clear on where we ended up with this, so I'm sending a copy of this to Paul Demers who is the board member who is the saint who volunteered to figure out the logistics of how it's going to work.

Keep looking here because hopefully Paul will post something to clarify the current plans.

I think the idea is that it was too much to plan *both* a 25th anniversary celebration and a month tour in the same year.

Are you hoping to do a continuous end-to-end at some point? If so, I'm impressed. I am sure the opportunity to do it with a group will happen again in the future.

Oh, and you're right to check the website. Now that you're a member you'll get emails and newsletters alerting you to the details of the winter schedule, too. That is so great that you're thinking about snow; I'm with you.

Chris,

The CTA has been working on a tour plan for 2009. I can say definitely that there will NOT be an End-to-End tour this winter.

CTA is exploring the possibility of one and perhaps 2 week long tours along the CTA. Things are still in the planning process, so we should have some decisions soon.
