About 4 miles north of Harriman Dam, Wilder Brook bridge is gone, victim of this summer's heavy rains. You can probably get across on the ice just upstream of the bridge site if the cold stays; the water isn't (usually) very deep. The blazes have been moved to point toward the easiest crossing point, but caution is advised. Anyone planning on skiing one way should arrange your transportation for the possibility that you can't cross Wilder Brook. Landowner TransCanada will replace this bridge summer 2010.
A trip in early Jan 2010 was able to easily ski across the frozen brook, a make-shift bridge is in place but tricky to get onto.
