Wondering what the conditions are like for this area.. we planned an out and back in this area, but wondered what the snow is like.............or is there any?? If anyone knows, please let us all know!! Thanks

Oh, it's really not safe! There are a few inches of nice fluff on top of a very uneven, hard (think dense styrofoam) base. If you're in a level area it's okay, but even the slightest incline results in a lot of speed and no ability to control skis since the base is unevenly worn and washed out. It takes a lot of for me to say this, but it's dangerous and I would (and will!) stay off of the backcountry parts of Section 11.
If you're in this area, you'll have better luck skiing off of Old Plymouth Road on the "Plymsbury" Trails. Much of this area is quite flat. I haven't been in there lately but I suspect it's mostly safe. If you're interested and need some clues as to where to go, send me a message with your email address I'll attach a map.
