I think I saw mention of the event in my latest newsletter, but don't see anything online. Any info?

Hi Steve, it's slated for August 29th. If you need more info at this point, call or email the CTA office. Lynn

Since last year I have started riding a 29er(steel Redline). It's abit heavier than my 26er(Ted Wojcik), but most of the time, rolls faster. I remember seeing a few big wheelers last year. Would it be to my advantage, or should I roll back to my old steed? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Steve,
For your info, the 29" wheels are great for regular single track mountain biking but they are a slight disadvantage when doing sustained long climbs over a road like the Toll Road. The more weight on the circumference of the wheel, the more energy it takes to keep it moving. If your new 29" wheel is lighter than your old 26" wheel, it won't be a handicap.

Thanks for the input. You're right. I've been doing some beta testing on my local hills, and the heavier-wheeled 29er would really set me back. The good thing is, the fitness I've gained from riding it should let me beat my time from last year. So for now, the Ted is off the auction block...
Seeya there!
